Poem Title

My Brother

Back

I met a man the other day,

We spoke together along the way.

He told me about his lifetime past,

came to our land, new life to cast.

Light on his feet as men should be,

Tall and lean and handsome we agree.

Found a girl who loved to dance,

now their partnership lead to romance.

Set up shop on the north side of town,

had some kids and most are still around.

Learned his trade while at school,

built things by hand and by tool.

Found the truth for a future now yearned,

passed on to his children, the things he had learned.

One in particular took it to heart,

to look after him until his depart.

We will miss you our dear friend,

though we know this is not the end.

The promises made in behalf of our brother,

so one day soon we will see one another.
