Poem Title

The Proposal

Back

Will you walk slowly down the aisle,

To be taken, beaming your lovely smile.

Will you hold my shaking hand,

And forever beside me stand.

Will you knee down beside our bed,

With me pray, as we bow our head.

Will you wear a little black lace,

And a smile upon your face.

Will you lay in my arms,

And show me all your charms.

Will you work with me in the field,

To worldly ways never yield.

Will you care for me when I am ill,

Restore my health, and hope instill.

Will you be my closest friend,

To love and be devoted, never end.

Lois, will you marry me?
